Namang Village Prepares to Become a 'Desa Cantik' Village 2025

Central Bangka - In order to implement the national program Desa Cinta Statistik (Desa Cantik) in 2025, the BPS-Bangka Tengah Regency conducted a series of coordination activities with the Social, Community and Village Empowerment Agency (Dinsos PMD) and the Namang Village Government. The first coordination was conducted on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 with the Social, Community and Village Empowerment Agency. The results of the meeting agreed that the socialization and declaration of the Desa Cantik program would be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Dinsos PMD is also committed to assisting coordination with the village and facilitating technical needs to support the smooth running of the event.

The day after, on April 23, 2025, BPS continued direct coordination with the Namang Village Government. From the meeting, it was agreed that the activity would take place at Saung Desa Namang. The village government stated that they were ready to facilitate and actively participate in the activity. As a form of wider synergy, the village also proposed that the Regent of Central Bangka be invited to attend the declaration event.

On this occasion, the Namang Village Government also submitted a request to BPS-Central Bangka Regency to issue a Letter of Determination of Namang Village as a Nominated Village for Desa Cantik 2025. This letter will be used as an administrative basis in making official invitations to the participants of the activity.

The Desa Cantik program is a BPS-Statistics Indonesia’s initiative that aims to improve statistical literacy and encourage data utilization in village development planning. Namang Village was chosen as one of the nominated villages because it is considered to have the potential and readiness to manage data independently. It is hoped that this activity will not only be the first milestone in strengthening statistics in Namang Village, but also an inspirational model for other villages in Central Bangka Regency.
