Abstract

City of Pangkalpianng, in June 2020 there was inflation of 0.20 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 103.04. From 90 CPI cities, 76 cities experienced inflation and 14 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kendari by 1.33 percent with CPI 104.80 and the lowest occurred in Makassar by 0.01 percent with CPI 105.51. While the highest deflation occurred in Ternate by 0.34 percent with CPI 105.43 and the lowest occurred in Padangsidempuan by 0.02 percent with CPI 105.38.

Inflation was due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index in several expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.92 percent; household appliances, equipment and routine maintenance by 0.17 percent; and the personal care and other services group of 0.65 percent. While the groups experiencing deflation were clothing and footwear by 0.08 percent; health group of 0.05 percent; and transportation by 0.75 percent. While housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups; information, communication and financial services groups; recreation, sports and culture groups; education group; and the food and beverage / restaurant supply group did not experience a change in index / stable.

During the January-June 2020 calendar year inflation occurred by 0.13 percent with year on year (June 2020 against June 2019) deflation of 0.69 percent.

The energy component in June 2020 was stable or did not experience changes in the CPI of 101.35. While the foodstuff component this month experienced inflation of 1.24 percent with CPI 100.97.
