Namang, 13 June 2025 — As part of a series of activities under the 2025 Desa Cinta Statistik (Desa Cantik) programme, the BPS-Statistics Bangka Tengah Regency, in collaboration with the Namang Village Government, organised a training session for field data collectors on tourism potential and food security (Pelawan). The activity was held at the Namang Village Office and attended by village headmen who also serve as census officers.
Data collection will be conducted between 14 and 22 June 2025 using four types of Pelawan Questionnaires, namely questionnaires on rice, livestock, honey, and pepper. The four questionnaires have been designed to gather comprehensive information on the leading commodities that are the economic strength of Namang Village.
The training session was interactive and engaging, led by Wiji Nogroho, Associate Statistician at the Central Bangka Regency BPS. The RT heads participated actively in discussions, asked questions, and engaged in direct dialogue with the instructor to gain a deeper understanding of the census material.
The training programme is designed to equip officers with the technical expertise to efficiently manage enumeration procedures, effectively complete questionnaires, and uphold data quality standards. This activity is expected to support the collection of quality data as a basis for sustainable village development planning and policy.
This data collection also supports the main objective of the Desa Cantik programme, which is to improve statistical literacy at the village level and strengthen the use of data in development based on local potential.
