Abstract

In January 2022, Pangkalpinang City experienced inflation of 1.22 percent with a CPI of 108.47. Of the 90 CPI cities, 85 cities experienced inflation and only 5 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sibolga at 1.53 percent with a CPI of 109.81 and the lowest occurred in Manokwari at 0.02 percent with a CPI of 111.34. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kotamobagu at 0.66 percent with a CPI of 108.79 and the lowest was in Jayapura at 0.04 percent with a CPI of 108.79.

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index in 9 expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.72 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.11 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 1.41 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.27 percent; health group by 0.06 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.34 percent; education group by 0.16 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.74 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.15 percent. The expenditure group that experienced a decline in the index was the transportation group by 0.07 percent and the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.01 percent.

The inflation rate for the calendar year January 2022 is 1.22 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (January 2022 to January 2021) is 3.65 percent.

The energy group in January 2022 experienced inflation of 1.44 percent with a CPI of 103.71. Meanwhile, the food ingredients component also experienced inflation of 3.39 percent with a CPI of 117.99.
