Abstract

The economy of the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands in the second quarter of 2021 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) at current prices (ADHB) reached Rp. 21.19 trillion and GRDP at constant prices (ADHK) in 2010 reached Rp. 13.73 trillion.
The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the second quarter of 2020 (y-on-y) grew by 6.85 percent, an increase compared to the achievement of the second quarter of 2020 which contracted by 4.95 percent. From the production side, all business fields experienced positive growth, where the business field that experienced the highest growth was the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field. On the expenditure side, the highest growth occurred in the component of foreign exports.
The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q) grew by 3.31 percent. From the production side, growth occurred in almost all business fields except for the Financial Services and Insurance Business Fields, which actually contracted. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the highest growth was experienced by the government consumption expenditure component.
The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in the first semester of 2021 grew by 3.87 percent against the first semester of 2020 (c-to-c). From the production side, growth occurred in almost all business fields except for the Education Services Business Field, which actually contracted. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the highest growth was experienced by the component of foreign exports.
The Covid-19 pandemic that has occurred for more than a year has affected the economy on a local, national and global scale. In the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands, after more than a year of the pandemic period, the community has started to get used to adapting new habits so that in general the economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province has revived.
The economy of Sumatra Island in the second quarter of 2021 grew by 5.27 percent compared to the second quarter of 2020 (y-on-y). The total ADHB GRDP of Sumatra Island in the second quarter of 2021 reached IDR 909.98 trillion or around 21.73 percent of the total GRDP of 34 provinces in Indonesia, while the ADHK GRDP of Sumatra Island in the second quarter of 2021 reached IDR 589.48 trillion. The GRDP of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province only contributes 2.33 percent to the GRDP of Sumatra Island and 0.51 percent to the total GRDP of 34 provinces in Indonesia.
