Abstract

  • In September 2019 Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 0.48 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 147.65.
  • Inflation was due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in almost all indexes of the expenditure group, namely the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group of 0.77 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.02 percent; clothing group by 0.56 percent; health group of 0.25 percent; recreation and sports education group by 0.02 percent; and the transportation, communication and financial services group at 3.99 percent. Meanwhile, the foodstuffs group experienced a deflation of 0.67 percent.
  • The September 2019 calendar year inflation rate is 3.00 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2019 to September 2018) is 4.09 percent.
  • The core component in September 2019 experienced inflation of 0.61 percent; the volatile component experienced deflation of 1.52 percent; and the government-regulated component experienced inflation of 2.71 percent.
  • From 82 CPI cities, 12 cities experienced inflation and 70 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Meulaboh by 0.91 percent with CPI of 139.48 and the lowest occurred in Palopo City by 0.01 percent with CPI of 136.36. While the highest deflation occurred in Sibolga by 1.94 percent with CPI of 144.61 and the lowest in Surabaya by 0.02 percent with CPI of 137.13.
