Abstract

In July 2019, Pangkalpinang City experienced deflation of 0.41 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 145.62
Deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by the decrease in the three expenditure group indices, namely the foodstuffs group by 1.57 percent, health group by 0.19 percent and the transportation, communication and financial services group by 0.78 percent.
The inflation rate for the (January-July)2019 calendar year is 2.79 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2019 to July 2018) is 3.34 percent.
The core component in July 2019 experienced deflation of 1.00 percent; volatile components experienced deflation of 1.40 percent; and the government regulated component experienced deflation of 0.71 percent.
