Abstract

  • In March 2019, Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 0.27 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 144.32.
  • Inflation occurs because of an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the four expenditure group indices, namely the processed food, drinks, cigarettes and tobacco group by 0.03 percent; health group by 0.09 percent; recreation and sports education group by 1.21 percent and the transportation, communication and financial services group by 3.08 percent. While the other two groups experienced deflation, namely the foodstuffs group at 0.46 percent and the housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel group by 0.19 percent. While the clothing group is relatively stable.
  • The inflation rate for the March 2019 calendar year was 0.68 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (March 2019 against March 2018) was 3.31 percent.
  • The core component in March 2019 experienced a deflation of 0.37 percent; volatile components experienced inflation of 0.81 percent; and the government regulated component experienced inflation of 1.75 percent.
  • The Combined Two Cities in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, namely the cities of Pangkalpinang and Tanjungpandan in March 2019 experienced deflation of 0.39 percent with CPI 142.31.
