Abstract

  • On March 2019 the city of Pangkalpinang experienced a deflation of 0.76 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 141.22.
  • Deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by a decrease in some expenditure group indices, namely: foodstuffs group of 2.47 percent; processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group by 0.06 percent; housing, water, electricity and fuel by 0.18 percent; recreation and sports education group by 0.10 percent; and the transportation, communication and financial services group by 0.20 percent. While the expenditure group that experienced an increase in the index was the clothing group by 0.21 percent and the health group by 0.05 percent.
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year (January-March) is deflation of 0.32 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (March 2019 to March 2018) is 2.39 percent.
  • The core component in March 2019 experienced a deflation of 0.62 percent. Government regulated components and volatile components also experienced deflation of 0.29 and 1.56 percent respectively.
  • Combined Two Cities (Pangkalpinang and Tanjungpandan) in March 2019 experienced a deflation of 0.39 percent with CPI 142.31. March 2019, Pangkalpinang deflation of 0.76 percent with CPI 141.22. Deflationary calendar year is 0.32 percent and year-on-year inflation is 2.39 percent.
