Abstract

  • In December 2018 the city of Pangkalpinang experienced inflation of 1.88 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 141.67.
  • Inflation occurs because of an increase in prices indicated by an increase in some expenditure group indices, namely: foodstuffs group of 3.44 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.27 percent; housing, water, electricity and fuel by 0.66 percent; and the transportation, communication and financial services group of 5.02 percent. While the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in index was the clothing group by 0.07 percent; health group by 0.14 percent; and recreational education and sports groups by 0.03 percent.
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year (January-December) 2018 and the year-on-year inflation rate (December 2018 to December 2017) are 3.45 percent respectively.
  • The core component in December 2018 experienced inflation of 0.33 percent. Government regulated component inflation was 4.25 percent and volatile components were 3.92 percent.
  • The Combined Two Cities in the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands, namely the cities of Pangkalpinang and Tanjungpandan in December 2018 experienced inflation of 1.51 percent with CPI 142.26.
