Groundnut Ubinan in Early 2025

Groundnut Ubinan in Early 2025

January 7, 2025 | BPS Activities

Ubinan is better known as a method used to estimate rice production, but it is actually also applied to other commodities, including peanuts. Groundnut ubinan aims to obtain accurate data on the yield of an agricultural field. This process is done by measuring crop yields in a certain unit area, usually in units per hectare, to get a clearer picture of crop productivity. Through ubinan, farmers and researchers can obtain very useful information regarding the amount of yield and the expected yield potential of each plot of cultivated groundnut plants.

The resulting data has an important role in the agricultural sector, especially for the BPS-Statistics (BPS), which collects and processes agricultural data in Indonesia. Each plot of groundnut data obtained from various regions will be used to compile national crop production estimates, which form the basis for agricultural policy planning. This information is needed to formulate strategic measures to support the sustainability of national food production, such as in determining distribution needs, price policies, and subsidy programs that can help farmers.

Overall, the data collected by BPS is not only important for statistical analysis, but also for improving agricultural productivity and supporting national food security. By understanding groundnut yields in more detail, both farmers and the government can collaborate to create the right policies, improve farmers' welfare, and create a more sustainable agricultural system. Hence, this ubinan activity has a very significant contribution to the development of the agricultural sector in Indonesia.
